Themis Prodromakis
He was born in Sydney of Australia on 1981. He grew up in Aegio and from the age
of 7 he is studying the Byzantine Music.
On 1998 he won the first Pan-Hellenic reward of Byz. Music in the "Pan-Hellenic
School Competition" that was organised by the Ministry of Education and
Religions and he
presented his program in the Palace of Music Athens. Moreover, in the
same competition, he received a distinction in the Traditional music as well.
On June 2000 he reveived a Diploma in Byzantine Music with distinction.
He was priviledged to have as a teacher (1999-2001) the world famous Greek
tradional singer Domna Samiou.
He also had the honour to participate in studio recordings for her disk "Sea
songs"
He is member of: the chorus of
chanters "Maistores of the Psaltic Art", the Chorus of Friends of Byzantine
Music of Aigialeia, the
Chanters Association of Aigialeia "Ioannis Koukouzelis", and Chorus of
Traditional Music of
Viotia.
He has participated in many events and concerts, in Greece as well as
abroad, either as a member of the above associations, or as a singer with the
Music
Institute of Aegio. He has also participated in three disks, singing with
the Music Institute of Aegio:
"Christougenna - Protougenna" (Greek traditional carols)
"Music and songs from Europe"
"In the Vostitsa of 30's" (Music for theatrical performance)
He graduated from University of Lincoln as an Electrical and Electronics
Engineer.
Today, he is enrolled in Univeristy of Liverpool doing a master's degree (MSc in
Microelectronics and Telecommunications)
He participates in the Musical Institute since 1998.
