The Musical Institute of Aegio is a cultural “vehicle”, which has existed for more than 15 years now in its effort to provide and cultivate the greek music.

     Its orchestra, which is constituted by virtuosos, has the ability with the alternation of musical instruments to approach with respect and consistency the music scene avoiding at the same time to copy or re-write well-known songs in the modest way.

   The general public and the professionals in music have accepted and appreciated it since the first year of its existence. Also the cooperation with the biggest-names of the traditional music industry in Greece such as Domna Samiou, Chronis Aidonidis, Dikaia Chatzidaki, Christos Sikis, Kostas Leontidis, and Nantia Karagianni, Mpampis Tsertos, Panayiotis Lalezas, was the motivation to continue their effort in the genre of traditional music.

  Also the Musical Institute of Aegio has been appeared in numerous concerts and festivals throughout Europe (Italy, France and Bulgaria), America (New York Brooklyn Opera) and of course in Greece (festival Patras, Symi’s Festival and Ancient Olympia) obtaining honour and awards.

    It has also published 4 discographic works. Its very last called “Erotos piisis-agapis melos (love poetry, love music)” was published by the University of Patras.

    Very honourable was its appearance in the January 2002 in the Palace of Music Athens. In the first part of the performance, the National Symphonic Orchestra of ERT, conducted by A.Pilarinos and Mikis Theodorakis, performed classical music pieces of the latter. At the second part the Musical Institute of Aegio has performed together with 3 Byzantine Choruses traditional Greek songs.
